• Salary:  £24796 – £26824
• Location:  Horsham
• Hours:  Monday – Sunday (shift pattern 7am – 9pm, Weekends)

My client is seeking a proactive Caretaker to help maintain and secure our large, vibrant site. This full-time role involves hands-on maintenance, supporting school events, and ensuring a safe, clean environment for students, staff, and the community. Apprenticeship route available.

Caretaker responsibilities:

• Maintain and secure our 16.5-acre site, including buildings, sports fields, and facilities.
• Carry out general repairs, cleaning, and grounds maintenance.
• Support school events and community lettings with setup and on-site assistance.
• Operate heating, lighting, and security systems; respond to emergencies.
• Ensure health & safety compliance and contribute to risk assessments.
• Engage in ongoing training and development, including apprenticeship opportunities.

Skills & experience required:

• Practical, hands-on skills in maintenance or caretaking.
• A proactive, reliable team player with a positive attitude.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends.
• Commitment to safeguarding and supporting the school’s ethos.
