Legal Assistant Full Time Permanent

• Position:  Legal Assistant
• Salary:  £27,000 to £30,000 based on experience
• Location:  Eastbourne
• Hours:  40 hours a week working 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday fully office based
• 20 days holiday plus bank holidays plus the Christmas break in addition, pension scheme

We are looking for a Legal Assistant with Conveyancing experience to join a modern law firm in central Eastbourne. The Legal Assistant will support the conveyancing team and fee earner through assisting conveyancers and clients.

The Conveyancing Legal Assistant will:

• Support Fee Earners with day‑to‑day case management, client queries and general file progression.
• Manage client communications professionally — including calls, instructions, and enquiries — ensuring prompt responses and excellent service.
• Handle key administrative duties such as opening/closing files, issuing client care documents, verifying ID, producing contracts, raising enquiries, and ordering searches.
• Maintain accurate case records through effective use of case management systems, correct procedures, and compliance with company policies.
• Organise and prioritise your own workload independently while maintaining high standards of productivity, accuracy and client care.
• Contribute to positive client and introducer relationships by delivering a consistently high‑quality, efficient and courteous service.

Skills & experience required:

• You’ll need previous experience as a Legal Assistant or similar
• Experience with conveyancing work/departments is essential
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organisation skills
