Warehouse Operative/Driver Full Time Permanent

• Position: Warehouse Operative/Driver
• Salary: £27,000 – £28,000 per annum. Excellent all round company benefits, generous holiday allowance plus all bank holidays and Christmas shutdown. Plus annual company bonus scheme
• Location: Uckfield, East Sussex
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:00-17:00
• Role based cl0se to Uckfield with parking available on site for all staff. It is essential to be a driver with your own transport as the workplace location can be quite hard to get to using public transport (particularly during the above working hours).

The role – Warehouse Operative / Driver

To ensure all warehouse processes and driving duties are followed on time and in full in order to deliver a consistent level of service for all customers.

The role – duties and responsibilities

Warehouse duties:

• To follow the goods out process fully and ensure the correct goods are picked for each customer order
• To fully check goods as they are loaded onto the delivery vehicles
• To assist with efficient route planning, reducing wasted time and fuel
• To communicate with the warehouse supervisor regarding any discrepancies relating to picking orders
• To provide excellent customer service during all contact with customers during the delivery process.
• To feedback any information from customers about their orders, complaints, returns etc to the warehouse supervisor
• Ensure that regular stock taking processes are conducted accurately to avoid errors on the stock listing.
• Rotate perishable items and check best before and expiry dates, notifying supervisor of any short life items.
• Monitor company vehicles for safety purposes and report when any maintenance or safety items are found.

Driving duties:

The role will also involve driving a delivery vehicle to the surrounding counties, this will include driving to a different area each day, going as far as North London/Essex, Hampshire etc. all runs are completed within a day and there is no requirement for overnight stays. Typical number of deliveries could be around 10 per day.

You will drive a standard 3.5 tonne maximum vehicle which can be driven on a standard full UK driving licence. Minor offences are acceptable – maximum 6 points. Due to company insurance restrictions, you must be 25 years or older to drive the company vehicle.

Experience, competencies and knowledge required:

• Full UK driving licence – max 6 points for minor offences. Aged 25 or over for company vehicle insurance purposes only.
• Forklift license – desirable not essential but some experience preferred.
• Previous warehouse experience
