Production Operative Full Time Permanent

  • Position: Production Operative   
  • Salary: £26,230 – £29,230
  • Location: Worthing
  • Hours: Monday to Friday 7:30am to 3:30pm (to start) from June 2026, a mixture of early and lates on a rotating shift pattern (week 1: 6am to 2pm & week 2: 2pm – 10pm)

We are recruiting for a Production Operative to support a sterile production team at a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer in Worthing. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a small team and is comfortable working in both pharmaceutical preparation areas and cleanroom environments. Some heavy lifting is required, so candidates must be confident with manual handling tasks.

 

As a Production Operative you will play a vital part in ensuring all equipment, components, and materials are sterilised and prepared for production. Part of the role involves moving goods between buildings using the company van, therefore a clean driving licence is essential.

 

You must also be comfortable being fully gowned and working in Grade A, B and C cleanrooms for part of the shift.

 

As a Production Operative, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Completing work requests to meet production demand
  • Operating machinery to sterilise and sanitise equipment
  • Managing consumable stock levels across production areas
  • Ensuring all activities are completed to GMP standards
  • Supporting the cleaning and disinfection of Grade A/B/C areas
  • Unloading cleanroom machinery and preparing materials for use

 

Requirements for the Production Operative:

  • Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment wearing full PPE
  • Ability to perform some heavy lifting
  • Strong communication skills and a team‑focused mindset
  • Ability to follow GMP processes and documentation
  • Clean UK driving licence (required)

The Production Operative is a full‑time, permanent role working Monday to Friday, 7:30am–3:30pm to begin with. From June 2026, you will move onto a rotating shift pattern: Week 1 (6am–2pm) and Week 2 (2pm–10pm). Once on the rotating shifts, you will receive a 15% shift allowance paid monthly, taking your salary up to £30,165.
