Designer Full Time Permanent

• Position:  Designer
• Salary:  £35,000 – £40,000
• Location:  Newhaven – fully office based
• Hours:  Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm
• 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension scheme, free parking, full kitchen area with coffee machine, casual dress

We are looking for a talented Technical Designer to work with an award-winning creative design and manufacturing business in Newhaven where you will work as part of a small, passionate team who are proud to work with well-known brand names. As a designer with retail or event design experience you’ll translate design concepts into technical drawings and work internally / with clients to discuss materials required.

The Designer job includes:

• Using your creative flair to take concepts and create technical drawings for manufacturing
• Working on a variety of projects across retail and events, coming from a background of experience within this sector
• Creating technical drawings that are backed by an understanding of production methods and knowledge of relevant materials
• Working with project and production managers to discuss and understand clients’ needs
• Designing clear, concise technical drawings to be sent to CNC and other machinery, with clear production packs that show methods of manufacturing and use of materials

Skills & experience required:

• Strong experience in a similar role, gained from a relevant industry
• Excellent SketchUp, Vectric / VCarve and SolidWorks skills
• Experience with Photoshop and Illustrator
• Knowledge of manufacturing materials and processes

Salary, hours and Company benefits:

• £35,000 to £40,000 based on experience
• 30am to 5pm Monday to Friday, fully office based in Newhaven
