Structural and Architectural Steel Estimator Full Time Permanent

• Position: Structural and Architectural Steel Estimator
• Salary: £30,000 region per annum plus good staff benefits. There is a possibility that my client will consider a higher salary for someone with all the correct skills and experience
• Location: Uckfield, East Sussex
• Hours: Monday – Friday, 07:30 – 16:30, 40 hours per week
• Uckfield area based. Due to rural workplace location, your own transport is essential. Plenty of free parking on site for all staff.

We are delighted to be working alongside our established and very friendly client as they seek to recruit a Structural and Architectural Steel Estimator to join their team on a permanent full time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a great business who are expanding in 2024. My client is seeking a candidate who has experience of using Strumis software (ideally) or any another pricing software.

The role:

Due to an ever increasing order book, my client is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team, on a full time, permanent basis. You must be a highly motivated individual and have a background and full understanding of the structural steel sector within construction.

Responsibilities / duties:

• Carrying out steel take offs; measuring and qualifying material from engineers and architect’s drawings / specifications. This will be completed on a programme called Revu21.
• Developing cost estimating for structural steel and architectural structures. This will be completed on a programme called Strumis.
• Preparation of detailed quotations, pricing schedules and presentation documents for the tender bid. This will be completed on Strumis.
• Establishing Budgets for the Commercial, Procurement and Project Teams.
• Reviewing and advising on Proposed Client Contract Documentation.
• Attending Client Pre-tender meetings and initial site visits.
• Preparation of Handover Documentation to the Commercial and Project teams.
• Reporting to the Manager & liaising with staff and clients at all levels.
• Maintaining and improving the quality of estimating techniques and processes.
• Good IT skills required, along with knowledge of StruMIS and/or Revu 21 is a distinct advantage.
