Job Title: Industrial Sewing Machinist

Location: Eastbourne

Pay Rate: £12.71 – £14.50 per hour

Job Type: Temporary with an opportunity to go permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm

First Recruitment are seeking a skilled Industrial Sewing Machinist to join our client’s leading bespoke textile manufacturing company.

We are looking for experienced Industrial Sewing Machinists, and candidates must have proven industrial sewing experience, as the role involves working with a range of industrial sewing machines and different fabrics in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Producing a variety of fabric products from samples or technical drawings
• Working independently or as part of a team, depending on the size and complexity of orders
• Producing consistently high-quality, accurate work
• Supporting the Design and Sales teams with technical input regarding design feasibility and production timescales
• Proactively identifying and suggesting potential improvements within the business

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Essential: Proven experience using industrial sewing machines within a factory or manufacturing setting
• Previous experience in an industrial sewing, machinist, or similar textile manufacturing role
• Ability to work confidently with different materials and fabrics
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and interpret technical drawings
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
• Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and production demands
